What:

It’s a handmade party in the Loop!  Craft-O-Matic is a St. Louis Craft Mafia production. Guaranteed to reduce stress, increase happiness, and fulfill all your handmade desires.  Craft-O-Matic is a department store style, indie craft event featuring over sixty handmade artists who create awesome goods. There will be: plush, fashion accessories, handbags, house wares, jewelry, revamped clothing, and much more!  We will have fun and funky live entertainment from several St. Louis musicians and entertainers.  But wait…there’s more!  You will also have a chance to participate in some super-fun make and takes from MADE Collective in addition to the opportunity to support Tenth Life, a local charity helping special needs kitties.  This fun can all be yours! Mark you calendars and join us for Craft-O-Matic 2011.

Fuzzy Love:

Tenth Life is a non-profit animal welfare organization that provides another chance at life to injured, abused, and special needs cats.  Representatives will be available at Craft-O-Matic to help raise awareness about this amazing organization. You will have the opportunity to make a donation and even meet some of the cuddly kitties in need of a good home. Who knows, maybe you’ll fall in love and take one home with you!

MADE it at Craft-O-Matic!

Go upstairs to the Craft Room and have fun with MADE’s free make-and-take projects;  why not craft while you shop?  You can also sign up for special classes from the MADE instructors (spaces are limited – see (insert link to “classes” page here) for details.  MADE Collective is a growing nonprofit arts organization dedicated to bringing you the best in indie craft.

About the Organizers

Craft-O-Matic is a St. Louis Craft Mafia event.  The St. Louis Craft Mafia is a group of nearly forty of the most talented local indie artists who are rocking the STL Handmade scene.

April Tate leads the crafty band of hooligans, better known as the St. Louis Craft Mafia. She’s the president of MADE Collective and believes that there’s nothing that can’t be made into an adorable plushie.  Office bee by day, maker of one-of-a-kind plush and eco-friendly accessories by night.




Rachel Shelton is the founder of Sew Good and Trendy.  This nuclear engineer turned handmade artist designs and creates bags and accessories out of recycled and natural materials.







Holly Schroeder spends an inordinate amount of time reading craft blogs, knitting, and spilling hot cups of coffee on herself. She also runs South City Studio, where maps are king. Powered by the mighty caffeine, she recently launched a seed exchange program, Drop. Swap. Grow.





Bobbi Nesladek is the maker behind Downzipper.
